An Introduction

Hello! I am an art teacher in an large urban setting in New England with many years in the biz. This blog's job is to help me force myself to gather my ideas, lessons, tricks of the trade and idiosyncrasies in an attempt to inspire other art teachers or anyone who happens upon this blog.

Over the years I've worked and trained as a Montessori teacher, a classroom environment specialist, online content and curriculum writer for Sesame Workshop and Nickelodeon and as a voice over artist. One of my specialties is classroom management and I love to help teachers - new and seasoned - come up with ideas for creating a more peaceful learning environment.

The name of my blog comes from the greeting I give my morning classes every day, in sign language. I ring my chime and say: "Good Morning Children." and then they say" "Good Morning Art Teacher." If you are interested in teaching your students simple signs here is a terrific source.
Ultimately, my goal as an art teacher is to build a culturally and artistically literate world...one child at a time. Welcome!
